Dental veneers are thin shells made of tooth-colored material (usually porcelain or composite resin). They are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth in order to correct and cover flaws that make your smile appear less than perfect. Veneers are typically recommended to:
- Close gaps and spaces between the teeth
- Whiten severely stained teeth
- Correct slightly crooked or misaligned teeth
- Restore teeth that are broken, chipped, fractured or worn down
- Improve the appearance of teeth that are misshapen or have other cosmetic flaws
It usually requires two visits to our office to complete your veneers. During the first appointment, your teeth are cleaned and prepared to receive veneers, and an impression is taken. Our dentist helps you choose the correct shade of white for your veneers, and then the impression is sent to a dental lab. After the veneers have been created, you will return to our office, and Dr. Elizabeth Kim will place them on your teeth, check to ensure that they fit correctly and bond them into place over the surfaces of your teeth.
Your veneers are designed to help you achieve a beautiful and natural-looking smile that you can enjoy for years to come. Veneers may be used for a single tooth or for your entire smile.
